Chaos Magic

This project came third in the game design category at Staffordshire University's annual networking event GradEx in July 2022. This event is hosted yearly on the university campus and gives graduate students a chance to demonstrate their work to industry judges. Some of the industry judges at GradEx 2022 included Codemasters, Flix Interactive and many more.

Solo Project

September 2021 - May 2022

Role: Technical Game Designer

Software: Unreal Engine 4.26 (Blueprint)

Key Features:

- Designed and iterated upon all of the players mechanics

- Created a local multiplayer system

- Created an ability selection system that incorporates use of game pads

- Created UI system that works with game pads

- Modelled all of the environment assets myself using a mix of Blender and 3DS Max

- Created and rigged the character mesh from scratch using Blender

- Hand animated all of the required animations using Blender

Chaos Magic was my final year project for my undergraduate degree at Staffordshire University and I worked on it for around 8 months alongside some other projects. My aim for this project was to produce a playable tech demo that was fun to play but showed room for improvement if I took the idea further.
